Date: Saturday, 23 August 2008
Time: 4:00pm - 7:00pm
Cost: $15

2005 DeSante Sauvignon Blanc $14.99
Dark ruby to purple at the center of the glass, the aromas of mocha, dark cherry, black currant, blackberry and vanilla easily transcend the rim for your enjoyment. This wine is right on track with flavors of Damson plum, ripe Bing cherry, blackberry and dark chocolate. The tannins flow with the wine and support its journey across the palate, cocoa like in consistency, providing vibrant structure without an edge or coarse note. The entire experience of this Cabernet is balanced and harmonious from entry to the finish, which endures as a warm note of vanilla and cassis.

2006 Norton Rosado Malbec $7.99
Dark pink, very floral on the nose. Makes good presence upon entrance, good grip with elegant tannins, good transition, medium finish. Rose not to be taken lightly.

2007 Ventana Gewurztraminer $9.99
Ventana models its Gewurztraminer in the off-dry Alsatian Style. With flavor characteristics of litchis, orange blossoms, cinnamon and nutmeg spice, it exudes a lively bouquet. The wine is medium bodied with a lingering crisp spice finish. The off-dry style matches beautifully with food. Try Gewurztraminer with mild creamy cheeses, spicy Asian cuisine, pork dishes and poultry, especially turkey.

2007 Trefethen Riesling $18.99
Enticing and fragrant aromas of jasmine, fresh citrus and tangerine are accented by lovely floral scents. On the graceful palate, the wine’s bright, lively lemon-lime and white peach flavors are given added zest by a refreshing minerality that threads through the wine’s crisp lingering finish.

2007 Shannon Ridge Viognier $17.99
The color of this wine is bright, pristine and clear with aromas of guava, melon and peaches. The flavors are crisp-rich with a mix of tropical fruits and peach along with a silky, clean, well-balanced texture.

2006 Byington Chardonnay $23.99
At first approach the wine reveals a nutty aroma;
and the backbone of caramelized oak that leaves you longing for a taste. As you sip the wine, you’re swept away in its velvety texture and heavy weight on the palate. The finish is crisp and to the point, yet it lingers with the flavor of sur lies aging. Cellar some for the next 5 years to see how it ages, but it is very approachable right now.
